I am writing this letter to let you know of my experience with several employees at Chuck Hutton Chevrolet in Memphis TN. While traveling to Texas on vacation in our Pace Arrow Motor Dwelling, the brakes failed inside Memphis area. We were able to make it to Sam's Town RV Park in Robinsonville, MS. The next morning, I looked under the front of the motor House and saw that the speed sensor had melted, this from the brake not releasing as well as the brakes overheated. I referred to as Workhorse Custom Chassis and they told me that Chuck Hutton Chevrolet was an authorized Workhorse Dealership in Memphis. Workhorse told me to drive the motor Property to Chuck Hutton, and needless to say the individual at Workhorse was not a pleasure to deal with since she insisted that I drive towards the dealership with no brakes. I known as Chuck Hutton Chevrolet ad spoke to Mr. Greg Kinsey, and he arranged D's towing to come to Robinsonville and tow my motor Household to the service department at Chuck Hutton's. I came for the Chevy dealership after the motor Home arrived there and met Mr. Kinsey. I should say that this gentleman is one in the Greatest Folk that I have ever dealt with concerning a issue with my motor Property. He went out of his way keeping me informed as to what the status of my motor Home was. I made an additional trip to Chuck Hutton Chevy the next day to get some belongings from the motor House and to remove food form the unit due to the fact there was going to be a delay in getting repairs created due to back ordered parts. Mr. Kinsey was not operating this day and I met Mr. Micheal Lester, who was operating. Mr. Lester, like Mr. Kinsey was a pleasure to work with. If all from the employees at Chuck Hutton Chevrolet are like these two gentlemen, the dealership should be quite proud to have People like this functioning for them. I am sure they have much repeated consumers because of Persons like Mr. Kinsey and Mr. Lester. They did an fantastic job of taking care of their customers! Sincerely, R. Van Pelt of Otisco, IN.

NOTICE: The rater of this dealer is real. I think that any car that comes in at an affordable rate and can get you 150 mpg is a good deal to say the least. This vehicle is at its best when its putting around the city, where you will get free gas milage because its not using any gas, the engine doesn't evenget going. Now sure we know what your saying, Will the chevy volt have any inherant problems when it first starts selling?, Sure it will, so do all cars

If you are on a tight budget and looking to save some money on gas then you probably will not Rush out and buy the first few years modelof this car, that is to assume there will be more years then a couple. But once the bugs are worked out we have seen a major revolution in the car industry. One that has to have weakened the grip the oil industry has on detriot.a

If Big oil copanies are not worked up in a fuss yet about the Chevy volt, then they should be once they get a look at these specs. This is not tin can that you will have to push up hill when the battery dies, it gets a passable zero to sixty in around 8 seconds, ok you wont be raving a mustang, but you will not get left behind by the school buseither. And something tells me the people that are looking into this car, and there are a lot of them, are not ones that are looking to race cars anytime soon.

Tree huggers will the be the first ones to plop thier cash down for this Chevy Volt,, I mean lets admit if this car had a regular engine it would be half the price, but as with my vcr and my dvd player after a few years the price to produce came down and even my mom was willing to cough up the money for one. And I think I saw a Chevy Volt spec sheet on her coffee table last time I was there.

While this may not save American vehicles as a whole the chevy volt has to be looked at as a step in the right direction and their specs look great. We hope to see the volt in our neck of the woods real soon, maybe just not our driveway just yet.

1968 Chevrolet Camaro Overview

<img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; With the help of these chips ones car can give a great change in power and torque. This is basically done by changing the air to fuel ratio. Due to these Chips there is a great increase in fuel economy and the horse power of the vehicle. The speed of the vehicle is also enhanced greatly. The replacement of these chips can only be done once. These chips are highly expensive and it depends upon ones balance that how much he wants to in the performance of the vehicle by choosing good Car Performance Chips.

A car comes equipped with a computer chip. This chip is present in the fuels delivery area. Now if there is a performance chip present , then the car can easily manage the delivery of fuel. So the result will be that , there will be an increase in horse power and torque of the vehicle. If one has to replace a Performance Chip with another chip one has to remove it from the specific place and has to place a new chip there. This is done by removing the car’s dash, which is an awful work. Prices of these performance chips vary on the size and their performance. The biggest problem with the Performance Chips is that they are not manufactured for every auto-mobile company. The Performance chip companies only target those auto-mobile companies which have a performance edge to them. Here are some of these companies which take benefit from Performance Chips:

• Cadillac CTS-V
• Chevy Camaro
• Chevy Corvette
• Ford Mustang
• Jeep Wrangler
• Lincoln Town Car
• All the midsize and full size trucks.
• Toyota
• Porsche

Lets take an example of one of the worlds best companies Mustang .Mustang developed these Performance Chips for their racing cars to increase the speed and performance of the car. These performance chips are plugged into the IAT sensors to give a driver the ECU and a perfect reading. These chips also helps the car increase its acceleration.

New Performance chips are used by the Mustang company in their new models of Ford Mustang. These chips are giving the best performance to Ford Mustang as compared to some of the old chips which were used by the Mustang company. Okay I have to mention here this that most of the people think that if a performance chip is introduced in a car their car would become a super car. People think that by introducing these chips the exterior of the car changes. But the only thing that changes is that the performance of the car is enhanced. These chips only make the car run faster and smoother. The fuel consumption of the car is reduced and the torque of the car remain stable. A car with the Performance Chip can easily be distinguished from the car that does not have any Performance Chip.

Now lets see what a Diesel Performance Chip is like.

“Diesel performance chip is cool” is the comment I have heard from some of the drivers. It has been tested that if you install super diesel performance chips in your truck you will get 10 percent increase in fuel mileage. These chips also reprogram the shifting patters of the vehicle to increase the efficiency and the timing curve.

DIESEL PERFORMANCE CHIPS MODULES:

These modules are such devices which directly plug themselves in to the vehicles wiring harness. The module of the chips stays in its own place where it was installed until or unless the vehicle is returned by the owner to the factory for tuning purposes.

For more information visit http://www.car-parts-accessory.com

Used Chevy Parts and used Ford Truck parts in Analysts’ View

The world has become a global village and the transfer of food from one part to another part takes place through shipments and air route. In local areas, trucks are used to transfer food from one place to another. These trucks have to undergo a lot of operations when their working gets halted. According to Automotix, there has been a huge rise in the traffic in the past few decades and a lot of problems in the parts of trucks have occurred. The vehicles have used Chevy parts and used Ford Truck parts. However sometimes it is difficult to find the replacement of parts so Automotix has introduced their auto salvage plan.
The used Chevy parts have proved quite effective in removing the problems faced by numerous vehicles. Also there are used Ford truck parts that have been quite useful and Automotix has provisioned and appreciated their use. The used Chevy parts are easily affordable. Also, the used Ford truck parts are also available at quite a reasonable price. These parts are definitely suitable for local people and they have been termed as a solution to the ever rising problem.

The problem faced by the local people is that they were not able to find any website that could entertain their problems. Automotix has been so far the only website that has successfully been able to focus on customer problems. As soon as a local person writes the address of this site, s/he is very gently guided to the core of the situation and all his/her problems are entertained. They have advised many customers to use used Chevy parts and bring their life at ease. In case of used Ford truck parts, all of the regular process is adopted by Automotix staff and the solution is available within 48 hours at the door of customer.
The charges taken on shipment of used Ford truck parts and used Chevy parts are foretold. The customer services attract a lot of customers. The used Chevy parts come with warranty and are very efficient. One has to be precise with this, that the secret of success of these companies have been their user friendly approach. In fact, the entire Chevy 350 Engine series is extremely popular among car enthusiasts, rapidly transforming Chevrolet into one of the most desired and highly respected Hot Rods not only in the United States, but also in many different corners of the world.

In only a matter of years, the great features characteristic to the Chevy 350 Engine have rendered Chevrolet a prominent and competitive brand, establishing new trends in designing and manufacturing car engines. Much of today's popularity and prominence regarding the Chevrolet brand in general is strongly related to the initial success of the Chevrolet 350 Engine, as well as its gradual evolution into better performing and more powerful engines.

The Chevrolet 350 Engine is almost identical in shape and size with its successor, the 400 HP LS2 Engine, another well-performing engine that is still manufactured today in various places in the world. Although the first small-block was first manufactured and equipped on Chevrolets in 1955, and other later released, improved models in the series were more powerful and performed a lot better than the 350 model, the Chevy 350 Engine has somehow managed to become a lot more desired and respected than both its predecessors and successors. The Chevy 350 Engine is by far the most equipped Chevy small-block, being extensively installed in sports cars, station wagons and even heavy trucks!

2009 Chevy Silverado - Award Winning Performance

You already know if you want the longest lasting most dependable full size truck, that you need to go to Chevrolet. But when it comes to your teenagers and cars, it is always a great idea to get them insured so that the best of savings can be made. Auto insurance for teenagers actually helps you save money in the long run. You will end up saving on premium costs this way.

Teenage drivers are always put in the category of high risk drivers and this way they are required to pay differently for their insurance premium than experienced drivers. Their lack of prior experience also needs to be tested over time. The cost of insurance usually decreases when they are observed to be safe enough for driving over time. Statistically the insurance companies are right in assessing that your teenager has greater risks involved with the car. So, higher insurance rates for teenagers mean greater coverage in case of any damage. This usually pays off well and as the driver gets more experienced enough the insurance rates can be easily dropped down with ease.

Usually the errors caused by the teenage driver will relate to a collision. They are also more prone to run over a light or over look a sign. This can be frequent issue. So, insurance can pay off to be a good deal in these cases. High premium offsets will usually be able to make up for the costs in the later days.

A high price is usually not a very positively enthusiastic thing for your teenager’s first car. But this is certainly one of the best ways to cover up for the losses, should there be any. Prevention of losses is really the whole function for these insurance charges. So do them with zeal as soon as you can get to have them done. You will find it easy to claim for the price once you are insured. There are of course ways to get cheaper insurance rates for your teens if you look for them awhile.

The History Of The Chevy Cavalier

The Chevy Cavalier, or the Chevrolet cavalier as it was officially known as, was a very popular compact automobile which was originally introduced to the market back in 1982. Since then it went up through many redesigns and came to be a very popular motor with a great deal of positive reviews and are generally happy customer base.

Our regional either cavalier went on sale in 1981. It was a front wheel drive with 24 cylinder engines. It came in two forms, one with two doors and one with four doors. It also has a hatchback style and station wagon body styles. At that time, the car was largely identical to another model, a Pontiac which was introduced in Mexico in 1992.

The original Chevrolet was largely similar to the Pontiac which was introduced in Mexico back in 1992. The second generation of cavaliers eventually arrived in 1988. These were completely redesigned with various different styling and highly modified engines.

The engine also became more powerful and in 1990, the 2. 8 l engine was replaced with a considerably more powerful 3. 1 l engine. At the time, the transmission was also overhauled somewhat. Undergoing a slight revision in 1991, with regards to the interior and exterior, the car largely remained unchanged until 1994 which was the final year of the second generation of cavaliers.

In 1990 the engine was given a major upgrade, from 2. 8 l to 3. 1. Also, at the time the transmission was somewhat overhauled, enhancing performance of the car to compete with models which were being released at the time from other companies. It went through another revision again in 1991 with regards to the interior and the exterior but for three years after that, the car did not change great deal more.

Eventually, the cavalier was facelift and again in 2000 and again in 2003. After the year 2000, the convertible disappeared from the market and was not built again in its form. After having gone through various redesigns, the cavalier finally ceased production in 2005.

Cavalier also went for a facelift once again in 2000 and finally in 2003. The convertible disappeared from the market in 2000, and the whole Chevrolet cavalier line of cars eventually cease production in 2005, making way for the new range of products on the market, the Chevrolet Cobalt.

Andy Zain is the admin of Chevy Cavalier Forums , a place where fans and owners can get the right information for tuning, customization and general discussions on anything about Chevy Cavalier. To achieve freedom from oil use
2. To achieve cost savings
3. To protect the environment

This first cause is a rallying point. Consumers around the world are getting annoyed about giving an ever increasing amount of money to mostly middle-eastern nations, without protection from price swings and with continued increased costs. This is blended with some political and philosophical unease. People mostly wish to achieve autonomy from having to rely on these outside countries for their automotive energy needs. GM calls this concept “energy security”.

The second reason is closely related to the first. As oil prices continue their historic climb, it simply costs more and more to drive a gas-powered car. There are concerns that world oil production may be at or reaching a peak, after which prices will soar indefinitely. If the energy source for cars could come from a more stable stock of multiple energy sources such as coal, wind, solar, hydroelectric, and nuclear combined, it is possible that prices will remain stable. Also, it is hoped that by using energy from the electric grid, cost of operation will be lower than using gas.

The third reason is important, but not necessarily to all. Some remain unconvinced about global warming based on man-made CO2 production. Others believe it is the burning of fossil fuels than may be destroying the world for future generations, and are motivated to reduce their “carbon footprint”.

COST OF OPERATION:

The Volt can drive for 40 miles on a single full electric charge of it’s battery pack. It is a known fact that the battery pack will be allowed to drain down from 80% to 30% before the gas-generator kicks in. Since the battery pack holds 16 KWH of energy, that means 8 KWH will get you 40 miles.

The cost of a KWH from the electric grid varies considerably depending on location and time of use. Usually, off-peak hours, from 9PM to 10AM will have the lowest rates from one’s electric utility provider. This will require a special meter that not all homes have.

The map above shows the average retail price of electricity in the U.S. by state in 2003. It ranges from around 6 cents/KWH to 17 cents/KWH. The U.S. average for 2007 is 10.65 cents. To see the numbers for the current year click here. If we use the average, the cost to recharge the Volt will be $0.85, and the range for 2007 will be from 48 cents to $1.34 depending where you live. Clearly for 40 miles of driving at present gas and electric prices, there will be a very significant cost savings. Of course, there is some uncertainty of where these numbers will be when the Volt arrives in 2010.
After the first 40 miles, the combustion engine generator will kick in. This will keep the battery at a 30% state of charge. This 3-cylinder 1L engine will get 50 mpg fuel efficiency. To calculate the fuel efficiency for drives longer than 40 miles use the following formula: Total MPG = 55*M/(M-40)

ENERGY DIVERSITY AND SECURITY

There is also strong energy security value for driving this car. The following graph illustrates where the power of the electric grid comes from:

Certainly the renewable sector has room to grow, but overall you can see that coal, of which the U.S. has a tremendous supply, is the main source of electric energy. So in actuality, the Volt is a coal-burning car.

This may dissatisfy certain environmentalists. But widespread adoption of this vehicle will likely lead to increased consumer adoption of home-generated renewable energy such as solar panels, whose prices are dropping and efficiencies are increasing. This will allow one to drive “for free” and be independent.

G.M - Chevy Volt Gets 230 MPG

General Motors announced on Tuesday morning that its Chevrolet Volt extended-range electric car had delivered a fuel-economy rating of 230 miles a gallon — which sounds outrageous. With that kind of gas mileage, you could practically drive from Los Angeles to Las Vegas on a single gallon of gas, or for around three bucks.

But, of course, you wouldn’t be able to do that. G.M. said the 230 number is only for city driving, and it’s not based on the same measurement standard used to calculate the fuel economy of gas-engine or hybrid cars.

According to The Times’s Bill Vlasic:

The rating is based on methodology drafted by the Environmental Protection Agency, and most other automakers have not revealed the mileage for the electric cars. Nissan, however, announced last week that its all-electric vehicle, the Leaf, which comes out in late 2010, would get 367 m.p.g., using the same E.P.A. standards.

Figures for highway driving and combined city and highway use have not been completed for the Volt, but G.M.’s chief executive, Fritz Henderson, told reporters and analysts at a briefing that the car is expected to get more than 100 miles a gallon in combined city and highway driving.

The Volt extended range electric vehicle (or plug-in hybrid) can travel up to 40 miles on a full battery charge, G.M. said. Beyond that electric range, a small gas engine kicks in to supply enough charge in the battery to power the electric motor. G.M. planned to release the Volt in late 2010.

Check out AmericanMuscle.com and their large inventory of
Mustang Exhaust Systems.

Chevy Volt nabs shaky 230 MPG rating, might not ship in 2010

We've always heard that you've got to take the bad with the good, but who said it had to be done at the same time? This morning, Government General Motors CEO Fritz Henderson had some rather sensational news to share about Chevrolet's Volt, but according to a report over at Autocar, that very vehicle is looking at some serious (potential) issues. As for the good news, we're told that the Volt has snagged a staggering 230 MPG rating in the city, but we should caution you that it's not as cut and dry as GM would have you believe. The EPA has released "a new methodology for determining a draft fuel economy standard for extended-range EVs like the Volt," and it's that murky measurement system that has blessed Chevy's wonder child with a triple digit MPG rating.

Now, for the bad news. This past Sunday, GM reportedly submitted a regulatory filing with the US Treasury, and while it can't be taken as official word per se, it does provide reason to believe that the promised November ship date will slip to an undisclosed month and year. The report also noted that there is "no assurance" that it will qualify for any remaining energy loans to develop advanced fuel technology automobiles, and if you needed more reason to doubt the whole ordeal, have a look at this zinger: "Our competitors and others are pursuing similar technologies and other competing technologies, in some cases with more money available; there can be no assurance that they will not acquire similar or superior technologies sooner than we do." Ah well -- at least we know the four or five prototype models destined for eBay will do Ma Earth proud, right?

Stop by CorvetteGuys.com and check out their large selection of
C5 Corvette Parts.

Chevy Volt gets 230 mpg

Neither General Motors nor the EPA are making declarative statements about how, exactly, the 2011 Chevy Volt will achieve it's much-touted 230 mpg rating that was announced today. GM's most clear statement (available in full after the break) says that some consumers "may be able to be in pure electric mode on a daily basis without having to use any gas" and that "key to high-mileage performance is for a Volt driver to plug into the electric grid at least once each day." Without access to the actual method that the EPA is tentatively going to apply to plug-in vehicles (we have requests for clarification out to the EPA), all that GM's Dave Darovitz would tell us is that the number is "based on city cycles and we're not really talking in detail yet." Instead, the press release says that:

Under the new methodology being developed, EPA weights plug-in electric vehicles as traveling more city miles than highway miles on only electricity. The EPA methodology uses kilowatt hours per 100 miles traveled to define the electrical efficiency of plug-ins. Applying EPA's methodology, GM expects the Volt to consume as little as 25 kilowatt hours per 100 miles in city driving. At the U.S. average cost of electricity (approximately 11 cents per kWh), a typical Volt driver would pay about $2.75 for electricity to travel 100 miles, or less than 3 cents per mile.

Frank Weber, vehicle chief engineer for the Volt, told AutoblogGreen that the EPA's method takes into account the two extremes: People who plug in every chance they get and therefore barely ever need gasoline and people who never plug in (if you're buying a Volt and never plug it in, we'd like to offer you a bridge or two. Call us). By figuring out what the average driver will do with the Volt, the EPA has declared that 230 mpg is reasonable. Weber said, "The number is in the ballpark, it is not unrealistic. The moment you are driving shorter trips, or you go on longer trips and look at your average fuel economy, this number is achievable."

Keep in mind, the 230 mpg number is only valid for the Volt's city cycle. On the highway, the number will be closer to 100 mpg. Still impressive to look at, and the first car to get triple digits from the EPA. As you can read in this detailed PDF from NREL, there is much more to think about in calculating the fuel economy of PHEVs than simply how far it can go on a single charge and then what its "regular" mpg rating is. At least, there's more to it if you're the EPA.

[Source: GM, NREL, Consumer Reports]
